How To Get To FC Eco Camp


The Forest Club Eco Resort is located at Barangay Mabakan, Calauan, Laguna. It is is less than an hour from the Calamba exit of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and less than 30 minutes from the Santo Tomas exit of the new Alabang Calamba Santo Tomas Expressway (ACTEX). It is only two kilometers away from its sister institution, Forest Club Eco Resort, which is in Barangays Puypuy and Masaya, Bay, Laguna.

There are four ways to get there:

Via the towns of Los Banos and Bay

  1. Take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and exit at Calamba
  2. Take the National Road towards Sta. Cruz and go past Calamba, Pansol and Los Banos
  3. After the Los Banos junction, go past South Supermarket, the UPLB Open University, Petron and Total gas stations until you hit Barangay Maahas
  4. Turn right at the junction of the National Highway and Puypuy Road in Bay into Puypuy Road. This is the same road that leads to the Makban Geothermal Plant.
  5. The Forest Club Eco Camp is about 5 kilometers from this junction.
  6. Drive down Puypuy Road towards the Makban Geothermal Plant passing the following landmarks: Forest Club Eco Resort to your left, Rio Mar Hardware to your right at the first intersection, the Masaya High School and then the Masaya Grade School both to your left, the railway track which crosses the road and the Barangay Tranca archway.
  7. Turn left on the road with a big Grand Villas Resort & Butterfly Center sign.
  8. Drive for another 600 meters, pass Grand Villas until the road ends and turns right.
  9. Go straight through the wooden gates and into the dirt road lined at both sides with trees. You have reached FC Eco Camp.

Via PCMARD/DOST Road

You may take this scenic view via the UPLB campus side entrance otherwise known as the PCMARD/DOST Road. This route allows you to avoid the traffic at the UPLB junction. Note however, that this road is only open from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm.

  1. From the National Highway after Pansol, go past Crystal Springs, Seoul Resort and Camp Eldridge.
  2. Turn right at the PCMARD/DOST Road. This is a steep, zigzag road. Drive with caution. Go past the Magnetic Hill, the Los Banos Eco Center and the UPLB Gate. Proceed until you reach a small rotunda.
  3. Turn right at the rotunda. Go past the Lourdes grotto until you reach another rotunda marking the Boy's Scouts of the Philippines jamboree site.
  4. Keep left and drive downhill past the jamboree building, the fruit stands and the flower stand selling heliconias. 
  5. Turn right at the first corner (Camia) and follow this road until you reach an intersection.
  6. Turn right at the intersection, cross the bridge until you reach another intersection with the statue of Maria Makiling right in front of you. 
  7. Turn left at this intersection on Waling Waling Road.
  8. Go past the UPLB dormitories and the soccer field, then turn left on Chico Street.
  9. At the end of Chico Street, turn right on Mangga Street. Go past the tennis courts.
  10. Turn right on Pili Street and go on straight to the end until you see IRRI on the foreground.
  11. Turn right just before reaching IRRI and follow the signs to UP Rural High School.
  12. At the end of this mango lined road, turn left to cross the railroad track and then turn right again towards Barangay Paciano Rizal.
  13. Follow this winding road until you reach the Jubileeville intersection. Turn right and drive for another 1.5 kilometers passing the following landmarks: the Masaya High School and then the Masaya Grade School both to your left, the railway track which crosses the road and the Barangay Tranca archway.
  14. Turn left on the road with a big Grand Villas Resort & Butterfly Center sign.
  15. Drive for another 600 meters, pass Grand Villas until the road ends and turns right.
  16. Go straight through the wooden gates and into the dirt road lined at both sides with trees. You have reached FC Eco Camp.

Via ACTEx and Makban Geothermal Plant, Sto. Tomas, Batangas

  1. Take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and continue on to the adjoining Alabang-Calamba-Sto. Tomas Expressway (ACTEx).
  2. Exit at the Sto. Tomas, Batangas exit and turn right on the national highway towards San Pablo and Lucena.
  3. Follow the signs to Lucena, keeping left at two major forks on the road.
  4. Before reaching Alaminos, Laguna, watch out for the sign leading to ULTRA and the Unocal Makban Geothermal Plant.
  5. Turn left into the Unocal Makban Geothermal Plant compound.
  6. From this intersection, the Forest Club Eco Camp is about 20 minutes away. Follow this uphill and winding road and go past Barangay Bitin, the Bulalo Field and Barangay Sta. Cruz.
  7. Watch out for the big Grand Villas Resort & Butterfly Center sign and turn right into this road.
  8. Drive for another 600 meters, pass Grand Villas until the road ends and turns right.
  9. Go straight through the wooden gates and into the dirt road lined at both sides with trees. You have reached FC Eco Camp.
